Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PermitPrep.AI ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PermitPrep.AI is an AI-powered decision-support platform that analyzes architectural drawing sets for building code compliance. The Service generates reports cross-referencing uploaded drawings against applicable local, state, and international building codes.

3. Important Disclaimers

PermitPrep.AI is a decision-support tool only. Reports generated by the Service are NOT permit approvals, professional engineering opinions, or certified code reviews. All final code compliance determinations must be made by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Users should not rely solely on PermitPrep.AI reports for permitting or construction decisions.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and promptly update it if it changes.

5. Subscription and Billing

Access to the Service requires a paid subscription. New accounts receive a 14-day free trial. Free trials include a limited number of reports (currently 2 for individual plans and 10 for team plans). Full plan allowances apply once a paid subscription begins. Free trials do not require a payment method and you will not be charged during the trial. When the trial ends, your account reverts to free access with no report allowance until you add a payment method and start a paid subscription. Paid subscriptions renew automatically each billing period and are non-refundable except where required by law. Trial allowances may change at any time. Current pricing: Starter $249/month (5 reports), Professional $799/month (25 reports), Municipality $1,500/month (50 reports), Enterprise $4,999/month or $57,988/year, and Enterprise Plus $9,999/month or $117,988/year. We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including but not limited to: reverse-engineering the AI engine, uploading malicious files, sharing account credentials, or representing AI-generated reports as certified professional opinions.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all drawings and documents you upload. PermitPrep.AI retains ownership of the Service, its AI models, and report templates. Generated reports are licensed to you for your internal use only.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PermitPrep.AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or project delays arising from use of the Service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.

11. ICC Code Content

Reports generated by PermitPrep.AI reference building codes and standards published by the International Code Council (ICC) and other standards bodies. ICC codes are copyrighted by their respective publishers. Code citations in our reports are provided for reference only. For official code text visit iccsafe.org.

12. Acceptable Use and Automated Access

The Service, its jurisdiction and code-adoption data, its reports and its methods are our proprietary work. You may not, and may not allow anyone else to: (a) scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download any part of the Service or its data; (b) access the Service by any automated means, including bots, scripts or headless browsers, other than through an interface we expressly provide for that purpose; (c) reverse engineer, decompile or otherwise try to derive the Service's prompts, rules, checklists, data sets or source code; (d) use the Service, its data or its reports to build, train or improve a competing product or service; or (e) get around rate limits, trial limits or other technical controls, including by creating multiple accounts. Downloaded reports may be marked with the account that generated them. We may suspend or terminate access, and pursue any remedy available, for a breach of this section.
