Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: account details (name, email, company), uploaded architectural drawings, and payment information processed securely through Stripe. We also collect usage data including login activity, reports generated, and feature usage. We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to: provide and improve the Service, generate compliance reports, process payments, send transactional emails, and maintain account security. We do not sell your personal data.

3. Document Security

Uploaded architectural drawings are stored in encrypted AWS S3 buckets. Documents are processed by our AI engine and are not shared with third parties. You may request deletion of your uploaded documents at any time.

4. AI Processing

Your drawings are analyzed by AI models to generate compliance reports. This analysis is performed solely for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not use your drawings to train AI models.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 30 days after cancellation. Uploaded architectural drawings are permanently deleted 90 days after upload. Generated compliance reports are retained for 12 months after generation. You may request earlier deletion of any data by contacting hello@permitprep.ai.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:

  • Supabase — user authentication and database (United States)
  • AWS S3 — encrypted file storage (United States)
  • AWS ECS Fargate — AI analysis processing (United States)
  • AWS Lambda — backup AI analysis processing (United States)
  • Stripe — payment processing (United States)
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Anthropic Claude API — AI analysis engine (drawings processed through their API)
  • hCaptcha — bot protection on authentication pages (device and IP signals collected)
  • UptimeRobot — uptime monitoring

Each service is governed by its own privacy policy.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to: access your data, request corrections, request deletion, export your data, and withdraw consent for optional processing. To exercise these rights, contact hello@permitprep.ai.

8. Municipality Submissions

If you submit drawings through a municipality's public submission portal (permitprep.ai/submit/[municipality]), your submission data including drawings, contact information, and project details is shared with the relevant municipality building department. The municipality acts as the data controller for your submission. PermitPrep.AI processes your submission on behalf of the municipality. Submission data is retained for 12 months. Contact the relevant municipality for questions about their data practices.
